Battery spring SWIC-FΦ0.5 battery terminal
SWIC is a plated steel wire, but there is no risk of hydrogen embrittlement.
The material used is "Nickel-plated steel wire SWIC-F." Although it is not a JIS standard material, it has a wide variety of wire diameters and is readily available. "SWIC-F" is a plated steel wire that has been nickel-plated on iron-based spring material. Due to its high electrical conductivity and good solderability, it is commonly used for springs around electronic components. Additionally, despite being a plated wire, it has the advantage of not being susceptible to hydrogen embrittlement. The corrosion resistance of "SWIC" is comparable to that of SUS spring materials. Therefore, post-plating is unnecessary, which can lead to cost reduction. For the base spring materials, there are "hard steel wire," which has good workability, and "piano wire," which is excellent in durability, allowing for selection based on the application of the spring.
